What is wrong with America?

Is America really this stupid to believe this man can lead our country? I am just absolutely awestruck at how Barrack Obama has brainwashed so many people in this country. Thanks to Al Gore, we have this wonderful resource that we can find facts or lies about our representatives. I was looking for facts about the 2 presidential candidates we are supposed to vote for in the up-coming election. I found a website that has facts as far as I can tell. I was shocked to see that the candidate on the democratic side was FOR the ban of all semi-automatic firearms. This web site has many different facts about the candidates. I really doubt that anyone who voted really looked at how these candidates voted in recent history. Neither one of the guys we had the choice to vote for was worthy of a vote. I have many different views of where this country should go. According to half of America, we are looking at gay marrage, any firearm ban that comes down the pike, and approval of children being aborted before they even had the chance to sppek for themselves. Maybe I am the odd man out.

Gas Prices AGAIN!!!

So here is the subject again, "gas prices". Our state Senator Ted Stevens, made an appearance in our Juneau legislature building with some insight into what is causing the high prices of our gas. The reason I am so interested in this comes in two issues. First, and the one that hits home the most with me, is the fact I had just under 1/8th of a tank of fuel in my '99 suburban. I put $80 worth of fuel into my tank and that put me at just over a 1/2 tank of gas. Now I know I made the choice to own that gas guzzling S.U.V., I also know it was mine and my wife's choice to have more children than a standard vehicle can accommodate. This is not the issue. The second issue and the one that I think should be on the minds of everyone in this country is the fact we have to import oil into this country to keep up with demand. We should not have overseas oil markets deciding what we pay at the pumps. Don't get me wrong, I work indirectly for an overseas oil company and not having that income I get from oil companies would be hurtful to my family. I haven't worked for "big oil" all my life and I am sure I would, more than likely, have a job somewhere else making less than what I am making now.
Getting off subject a little here. We have so many sources for oil in this country it is astounding. Not just oil, but natural energy that could be harnessed without the environmental impact that everyone is afraid of. Course with everything, there is someone dictating what everyone should do instead of____. I live in the Mat-Su valley. Palmer to be more specific. If you ask anyone what is significant about Palmer 90% of the people would say "the wind". Now I drive by 1 wind generator along a stretch of road to the store. The initial cost of one of these things is in the 4-5 figures. I, myself can't afford one of these things, but I bet a government could. Palmer's power company leases power from a company in Anchorage, I wonder how much of that leased power would we have to pay for if the local company put up some wind turbines here in the valley. Why can't the local/state/federal government give incentives to these companies and land owners who allow these turbines to be put up on their land. I am not the smartest person, and I don't know what the problem is here with doing these things everyone is talking about, renewable energy, natural energy, trying to get away from our dependence on foreign oil. I would hope the bureaucrats do. I can tell you this guy gets it and he's got my vote!

Can't think of anything better but the elephant in the room.

So I used some thought process and looked up the reason why our gas prices are so high. I didn't look at conspiracy theories, I didn't look at the RNC web site, I didn't go to the DNC, and I went to the only web site out there with the truth. YOUTUBE. I so enjoy listening to and reading the works of the conspiracy theorists that take the time to bless us with their presence. Just the comments after that video are proof that we have some idiotic people in this country. The future is in serious trouble if our children elect these people into office. Michael Moore is the fattest piece of crap out there. Anyone who follows his belief system should go and live in a country where they would be more appreciated. I'm sure that the fine government of Myanmar or Darfur would love to have you people telling them how to live. I wonder what kind of conspiracies that government has in their closets. I am sure they would change their governing policies just because Michael Moore said so. Well they might just do it to keep him from eating them. I have no use for the things those people stand for; there is nothing good that comes out of their mouths. I fully understand the first amendment, I am glad we have a constitution that protects the God given rights every American has. The thing I don't understand is how people can put so much belief into such an idiot and these ridiculous stories of government conspiracies. Sure the government crashed the planes into the pentagon on September 11th, or wait, was it that there wasn't a plane, I can't remember. Anyway, I know the government has its problems, but we are partially to blame for those problems, after all we elected them. I'm not so sure that we should even have a President, whoever gets elected just ends up to be a scratching post anyway. I'm surprised we don't have these elected officials falling off like flies. The Zoloft must be flying around like crazy in the capitol. How can anyone do so much wrong and still be winning elections? We would be in such better shape had John Kerry been elected. He would have been such a good President. There would be no more terrorists, there wouldn't be any more bad feelings about America in the world, and everyone would love us. I was going to make a link to bad feelings in the last sentence. I did a Google search for, "hate America," I can tell you I feel physically sick to my stomach with some of the stories about different groups in this country and their hatred for America. Since when is shitting on the flag, or holding a banner saying, "thank god for 9-11," make you a good citizen? Or, how about when this group, "code pink" calling Marines deployed in Iraq, war criminals, does that make you a good American? These days it's really kind of hard to know what a good American is. Is it being so flaming gay that people have to cover their kids’ eyes to keep them from seeing street porn being displayed by 2 guys? Is it making movies and writing books displaying your own hatred for the country that you live and work in? I sure hope my kids have a better sense of respect and moral compass for what is right and wrong when they are in those voting booths making a choice for the next leader. I have to say, I love this country and most of the people who are in it. I will never forget about September 11th, or why we are the greatest country in the world, with the greatest military in the world.

Pristine wilderness

So this picture was taken this last winter while driving from Deadhorse to where I work. Or, was it taken on the surface of the moon? Kinda hard to tell the difference isn't it? It isn't like this all the time, just 8 months out of the year. I am so sick and tired of hearing these tree-huggers trying to act like this is some pristine wilderness
or a rain forest with so many endangered species that if a gravel pad was put out here it would kill everything in a hundred mile radius. Yet if Greenpeace can run aground over a corral reef, and as long as it's in the name of environmentalism, everything should be forgotten. In that BBC article, just think if that had been Dick Cheney or the devil himself, George W. Bush. How different do you think it would of been written? Would I have to look at forums and other blogs to find articles on this story? Do you think they would even be in a position of power still? I like how people can criticize how things are being done and have never had to make any hard decisions because they have been told what to do their whole working career. They haven't been in a position of power or consequence yet. I am not claiming George W. is right in every way and doesn't deserve criticism, but to blame the President for all the worlds problems is a bit far sided. The fact that we have soldiers in Iraq is a good idea, trying to provide people with a better life should be commended. The argument that we should be taking care of our own people doesn't hold water. The homeless people in this country are there because they want to be there. I have been unemployed, I have lived on the streets, if there is a want to get ahead in life, you will figure it out. My wife tried to give a homeless guy a burger and fries fresh from the nearest fast food joint and she was yelled at because he wanted money to buy some booze with. I have gone on and on about so many different things here, I rambled on about just about everything. I just think if people would think before they speak and not jump on the bandwagon and act like fruit-cakes, we would be in a better spot now.
